Welcome to VCS
Dear Marcia and Georgetta:

You are not going to believe this! I got a few more donations this week for Raising of the Green and I had to mail the forms out to the folks (this isn't what is hard to believe). I went to the Post office to get the correct postage. The clerk behind the counter was very nice and friendly and after we completed our business she looked at the envelopes and said with a smile, "Oh, VISIONS, I know them. My daughter went through their program and she's now 17!" We talked and she asked about both of you and said to say hi. Her name is Kym and her daughter's name is Destiny. Talk about a small world---VISIONS obviously paid off for her, she's got a nice government job. As a member of the Board of Trustees and volunteer, this was a reinforcing moment for me, I am very proud to be a part of this organization.

Kaylen is one of our VISIONS graduates. Her mom, Katrina works as an instructor assistant at Pleasant Hill Elementary School. When Kaylen joined the Butterflies classroom it was evident that her mother had spent time working with her on kindergarten readiness activities. Her mom followed up at home on all suggestions from our teaching staff. She was one of our best-prepared children when she went to kindergarten. Kaylen often comes in with her mother to pick up her little sister, Brianna. One day she came in wearing a leotard, tights and ballet shoes. She said that she was taking ballet lessons and preparing for a dance recital. At the end of May she came in with her mom to pick up Brianna. When she smiled she showed her missing front teeth. She told us that she got all good grades and that she has passed to the first grade.

While these children were just beginning their education journey some mothers reached a milestone. Three moms graduated from Taft Informational Technology High School.
