The program requires participants to participate in personal development and parenting classes, and individual counseling sessions. Staff and mentors become the adults who believe in these young people and give them value through continual support and encouragement. Participants are held accountable for their actions and guided in making positive choices about their and their children’s future. The services further include client advocacy and crisis intervention. Our staff collaborates with other agencies and provides referrals for housing, health care services, mental health services and employment.
EARLY CHILDCARE PROGRAM
The Early Childhood Education Program creates a safe, warm, nurturing environment in which children may grow and develop to their full potential. The philosophy is that children learn through play. A host of hands-on, active learning experiences are provided to develop gross and fine motor skills, math and science, sensory development, art, music, language arts and physical activity. Our focus is providing the children educational experiences that will help them enter kindergarten ready for success. The program has received quality ratings from the National Association for the Education of Young Children and State of Ohio’s Step Up to Quality program. Parental involvement is also a vital aspect of the childcare program at Visions. We encourage collaboration between the parent and the staff as we appreciate and support the bond between the child and family and the value of our parents ideas and talents.
