Raising of the Green 2008
Volunteers are gearing up for "Raising of the Green 2008" to benefit VISIONS Community Services. This years' event will again be held at The Bell Event Centre on Saturday, March 15th from 6:00 pm to 10 pm. The evening includes a gourmet meal prepared by Bell Event Centre Catering, music, silent and live auctions. Items include: Vacation Packages, Sporting Events, Fine Art, Home Furnishings, and much more.
At this years' event, Rob Johannigman, Jr. will be honored for his many years of volunteer service to VISIONS. "Rob has served on the Board of Trustees for over ten years serving as Chairman for six years. Rob always attends Raising of the Green with many family members and friends, he is a great supporter not only of VISIONS, but of this event", said Marcia Simmons, Executive Director. Rob and his family own and operate Loveland Pet Products in Mason, OH.
This Annual Event will benefit VISIONS Community Services, a private non-profit human services agency located in the West End of Cincinnati. The agency serves low-income young and teen parents and their children from various communities in the Cincinnati area.
VISIONS is committed to breaking the cycle of poverty by providing services that strengthen families and promote self-sufficiency. The services are designed to assist teen and young parents to complete their education, obtain job training and secure employment. Early child care and education is provided at the nationally accredited and Two Star Step Up To Quality awarded daycare center. This combination of services makes VISIONS a very special and unique program.
Last year's event raised $50,000, said Mary Ellen Cody, Chairperson for the Board of Trustees and member of Raising of the Green Committee. Additional members of the Committee are Megan Driehaus, Marcia Sherman, Jack and Mary Gimpel, Tim Allred, Shawn Baker, Deborah Elkins-Brown, Rochelle Brown, Patricia Culley, Patrick Fischer, Terry and Christy Horan, Rob Johannigman, Jr., Theodore Mechley, Russell Schnurr, Marcia Simmons, Georgetta Johnson and Joyce McNeely.
The cost of the event is $75 Per Person, a Patron ticket is $125 or you can sponsor a table and provide a wonderful evening for 10 of your family and friends for $1,000.
